Atsui des. (It's hot)

It's extremely hot and humid, and I've been walking around for hours in a wool suit. I seem to get lost everywhere I go. It took me 2 hours to find a Kinko's that was just a few minutes walk away from the train station. Although the Japanese take English for six years in junior high and high school, very few actually speak English. Living here is proving to be a great challenge. On a lighter note, I'm enjoying the food immensely. 7-11 actually has delicious bento boxes. I'm too tired to be frustrated.

So the wool suit = job search I assume. Are you interviewing for a job teaching conversational English?

By the way, glad you made it there safe and sound. Kudos on the photo blog. Wonderful idea. Michelle forwarded me the address and I've been hooked since. Makes me jones for that feeling of being in a completely alien environment.

You've got to post lots of pictures of the grocery stores, Sammy. Nothing says "you ain't in Kansas anymore" like the snack aisle of a foriegn grocery.

My name is Sammie, I am a half-Japanese American. I moved to Japan to know my family and our history, learn the language and understand the culture. These are the records of my experiences living in Tokyo. Check the archives for posts from previous months, click any photo for a larger view.
